Cord Gnomes

How is it that nicely wound extension cords and such somehow manage to entangle themselves with no outside force whatsoever?

Perhaps it's the same gnomes who mess with my socks and car keys.

The problem is that the wound cords are likely not being rewound properly via the alternating-loop technique which prevents twisting in the cord and it is wound. Also, the universe as a whole likes things being messy...in its eyes, an increase in entropy. The basic laws of thermodynamics hold that the entropy of a closed system (its disorganization) must increase over time for it to be favorable lest you put extra energy (muscle) into the system. Short and sweet.

  2. If you're so smart, then why did you opt to go to the University of Michigan?

  3. If you find that Gnome, tell him to send the pink sock I am currently missing, I'd appreciate it
