24 is a top-notch subversive program, demonstrating (though via fiction) that power corrupts.
With that said, I predict that President Logan, who lacks the guts to finish himself off, will be assisted involuntarily by his wife.
Furthermore, I predict that Chloe O'Brian is nearing the end of her tenure.
I don’t think Chloe is on her way out at CTU. With her gone there would not be a major player left at CTU, except Buchanan and Curtis, we would know for next year. If anything, I see her getting a promotion. Maybe she’ll end up being Buchanan’s second in-charge. I think Palmer’s brother, Wayne, might be the one who takes Logan out. And let’s not forget secret service agent Aaron Pierce. I would think he’s pretty much peeved at this point too.

ReplyDeleteIndeed, your points are quite valid. I'll concede that you're probably right about Chloe making it through this season and onto next, but I still favor Mrs. Logan as the president's assassin (in a murder-suicide, no less).
However, I do not state this authoritatively. As you point out, there are other rather good candidates.
Still, I don't think that Wayne can get close enough to Logan (at this point, at least), and I can't see anyone giving Pierce the chance to make a move. Besides, Pierce is bound by a personal code of duty. Revenge, however gratifying to him, would violate his otherwise exemplary record of service. If he kills Logan, it will be in self-defense, and I can’t see how that situation will arise.
On the other hand, the writers for 24 have never failed to surprise us.
P.S. I heard that Logan is signed on for at least part of next season. God, I hope not!
